Seeking Forgiveness

One topic that did not come up in three of the books we read in this section was the search for forgiveness. In The Stranger, Tell Tale Heart, and Crime and Punishment all three of the main characters commit a murder and all three find that what they have done is just, and have no need to feel anything for doing it. Meursault refused to see the priest twice before he was executed, and the main character from Tell Tale Heart showed off his deed by showing the police the old man's things and then brought chairs out and sat on top of the place where the dead body was.
Ok real reason for writing this blog was to ask for your forgiveness Mrs Burnett. i feel that i have taken your class to lax and took advantage of your kindness by not doing work or doing it extremely late such as this blog. i have been a constant disruption and i am truly sorry for how i have treated you and the class, although im positive you are lying about the ice cream parties! im sorry for having done this, this has been one of the best classes i have had in high school and for the few occasions that i did pay attention i have learned a great deal, you are a great teacher and should have treated you as one.

The Sphere of Feminist Novels are All the Same

Every novel that we have read about Feminism all the same concept behind it, woman hates her life and tries to make a change. Also every ending ends with the woman either running away from her life or killing herself. Really how is that helping them in the end? They run from security to be by their selves in a society that does not accept woman into working and supporting themselves. Or they kill themselves, which is the greatest escape I guess?
This is evident in The Awakening and in “A Doll’s House.” Edna tries to escape away from her husband and be with Robert but he ends up saying goodbye; which in turn makes her commit suicide. She just gives up, does not try to do anything to fix her problems. In “A Doll’s House” the woman helps her husband out by sending him away but has to get the money illegally. Then when her husband finds out she decides that she no longer wants to be with him, and ends up just running away.
It is hard to relate that in today’s society since women are now valued and are able to do such things without great consequence. I guess you can compare them to the women of the Middle East. They have very little say like the ones in these stories and it is illegal for them to leave their husbands.
I do not understand why all these stories are all considered classics. Maybe one or two of them but they all have the same basis with little differences.

the bright side of life HA

Suicide is a predominate issue in some of the literature we have read as well as the world.
In the awakening Edna’s final escape from the clutches of her world is suicide. Many people have seen this as a weakness and not a strong and courageous act, I beg to differ that. Edna is not giving up on life she is just finding a new way to be free from the life that she was in and that she no longer wanted to be apart of. She tried everything that she could to break away from the life she hated, she stopped with the meetings, she moved to the pigeon house to escape from her husband and be free for Robert. But she knew that everything would not work out so she did the one last thing that she could to be free, suicide.
Suicide in the world is becoming ridiculous! The so called “emo’s” that cut themselves because their life is so bad it is just stupid. I hate the fact that people actually do that to themselves to free good, and at school no one helps them, a kid sees another who cuts himself and he will make fun of him. The is no aide, students need to learn to value life and help one another out.
Suicide is the end; it is very hard for some people to understand how a person would want to commit such an act. Suicide is when you have no way out, you feel shut in can’t escape and nothing helps, you just want it to stop. There was a point in my life that I felt this, it was a very difficult point in my life and I barely scarped by. Some people find it funny to fool around saying “oh my life sucks I’m going to kill myself;” the do not understand the intensity of what it is. To want to make you life end is not a joke and it is the worst thing that one can do, there is always a way do not give up. I thank god everyday for my family and a few friends for being there to help me through that period of my life, at a time is saw no other way out now I do. I can deal with the pain you just have to hold on.
