One topic that did not come up in three of the books we read in this section was the search for forgiveness. In The Stranger, Tell Tale Heart, and Crime and Punishment all three of the main characters commit a murder and all three find that what they have done is just, and have no need to feel anything for doing it. Meursault refused to see the priest twice before he was executed, and the main character from Tell Tale Heart showed off his deed by showing the police the old man's things and then brought chairs out and sat on top of the place where the dead body was.
Ok real reason for writing this blog was to ask for your forgiveness Mrs Burnett. i feel that i have taken your class to lax and took advantage of your kindness by not doing work or doing it extremely late such as this blog. i have been a constant disruption and i am truly sorry for how i have treated you and the class, although im positive you are lying about the ice cream parties! im sorry for having done this, this has been one of the best classes i have had in high school and for the few occasions that i did pay attention i have learned a great deal, you are a great teacher and should have treated you as one.

Aww Sean! I still adore you and think you have an awesome future ahead of you. I hope you'll keep in touch! (You will NEVER get an admittal on the icecream parties!) :-)
ReplyDeleteAs far as your blog... great connections between the three works, and great raising of an issue you saw all by yourself!
